The needs are enormous
Happening in March/April:
Israel/Ukraine: The work that we started in February continues. The Ukrainian Jews are suffering. We sent funds in March, and now we will send food packages in April. We will also help the Ukrainian Jews who must flee to Israel.
The sex trade: As I told you last month, we have increased our efforts. One important job is to visit villages and explain how human trafficking works. Many of these villages think that their daughters will get well-paying jobs so they can send money home. But the truth is that they will never see their children again. Once you have gotten trapped in the web of the sex trade, you are stuck forever. Right now we are rescuing young girls daily.
In closed nations: In the Gulf States we keep on going. Right now there are 7 small churches. These people are extremely poor and can barely live on what they have. We have one employed pastor, and now he needs a car, evangelizing in the heart of the Arab world.
MEGA leadership conference in Addis Ababa: When you receive this letter I will have just returned home from the big leaders’ conference in Ethiopia. I’ll tell you about it in my next letter.
Next MEGA CRUSADE: At the end of May we have our next big gospel crusade. We are expecting several hundred thousand visitors in 4 days on the border of Congo and Zambia. It will be a huge crusade that will reach so many people. Meetings like this obviously cost a lot, but if you divide it by the number of people who get saved, it’s not much. You can help us! Your prayers and gifts go directly into what Jesus is doing right now.
Nepal: This week our main leader was threatened to death and has gone underground. Our ministry in the Himalayas is expanding in a major way. The Hindu extremists are furious, they are threatening us, beating and abusing us, but still we are baptizing more people and planting more churches. Our brothers and sisters really need all our support.
Just as I wrote last time, the needs are enormous. We are helping so many, as well as funding the construction of 2 church buildings. We send them some funds, then they build and send photos and receipts, then we send them more funds for the next phase. Together we are saving lives, and we are doing it out of love for those who have nothing. Together, in prayer and what we give, we are a part of what Jesus is doing.
Thank you for your gift.
In the love of Christ,
Pastor Tommy Lilja.
We do what we are – together we are fighting human trafficking!
Today we have an amazing team working on the border between Nepal and India. They are monitoring the busses headed to India, visiting villages with information, and influencing the authorities. Whatever they can do to rescue as many as possible. This year, 2024, we have already helped 60 girls, and right now 20 of them are getting training as seamstresses.
One of the girls was Punam, 15 years old, very poor, she came in contact with an unknown man who was on his way to smuggle her across the border into India. We found her at the last moment, at the bus station on the border to India.
Another one was Puja, 15 years old. She was married off at the age of 13. Her husband promised her family that Puja would have a better life. But then she was taken to India, tortured, rape, and sold as a prostitute. After 2 years she managed to escape, which is extremely rare. Once she crossed the border back into Nepal, someone told her about our ministry, and now she is in our care.
The cost for saving one girl is about 50 USD/GBP per month.
