Good morning,
A few weeks ago I hired Pastor Yubrak to work for us to rescue trafficking victims at the border of India. I was so touched when he told me that he was married to a victim of trafficking, a woman who had been sold as a sex slave in the brothels of Mumbai. Such love!
As a young girl, this woman was sold from Nepal to India, but was rescued from the brothels there in a rescue operation that Pastor Yubrak was involved in. Today both he and his wife are active in rescuing trafficking victims and they have helped over 50 girls. God has also blessed them with two children.
I am always moved by people who – driven by love – do things that I don’t think I could ever do. They are my heroes, and Pastor Yubrak is one of them. I haven’t met his wife, but I am sure she is wonderful. You know, it takes a real man to be able to handle his thoughts and emotions in that situation, and it takes a real man of God to see his wife as a new creation. The old is gone. She isn’t even a former prostitute in his eyes. She is a new creation, the old is gone.
It is grace from God to have them in our team. They really know what all of this is about, and I am thankful that we get to help them. What amazing people!
The word of the Lord came to Hosea and said, “Marry a prostitute.” So he did. They had two children. Despite everything Hosea had done for her, she decided to go back to the street and sell herself as a prostitute. After awhile it got so bad that she became a slave and was sold from brothel to brothel. Then the word of the Lord came to Hosea again:
“Go and buy her back.” Hosea went to the town square. He saw her there from a distance, on an auction block in the harbor, and the bidding had already begun. Her own husband bid on her, in competition with the brothel owners, and he ended up having to pay 15 shekels to buy back what was already his. I admire Hosea. I never would have been able to do that.
In our world, in our society, there are people who love with a love so selfless that it is simply amazing.
You have that love in your heart, and love is stronger than hate, bitterness and ignorance. Love is the strongest power there is, and you have the love of God in your heart. Always choose love.
Good morning,
Tommy
